Picture Update 3 - Sudan

Ferry from Aswan, Egypt to Wadi Haifa, Sudan on the Nile.  This was the upper deck.

Sunset on the Nile.

You can't drink alcohol in Sudan, yet there is a village called el Beer.

Kids on Donkeys in Wadi Haifa, Sudan.

Patrick from the Netherlands getting ready for the early morning ride.

A group of riders.

Bond fire at the camp.

Laundry at the camp site.  We camped at the Dongola Zoo!  Strangely, there were no animals.

Making falafels on the street of Dongola.  These were delicious.

Getting my hair cut in Dongola, Sudan.  It was easy to explain a three guard on top and one guard all around.

Alice, Ruth, Bram and John waiting for their food.  We found this grilled chicken place that was outstanding.

A Sudanese man at a Coke stop.

Dead camels in the desert.

Sudanese kids hanging out near our camp.

A typical rest stop for the buses in the desert.

A desert sun set.  How can anyone get tired of seeing this everyday?

A camel herder in the desert.

A Sudanese boy trying to sell us chicken.

AFRA - a mall in Khartoum.  It's not unlike any other mall in the US.  Lots of cars parked in the parking lot and a lot of teenagers (mostly girls too)!
